Our history
Pomparosa wasn't born out of a plan. It was born out of a bond. Out of a friendship that blossomed when we were just thirteen, amid colored pencils, sketchbooks, and dreams we didn't yet know how to name.
We are María Lucía Soto and María Alejandra Arias, childhood friends, lifelong partners, and now also partners in this dream that has become a brand.
Since we were little girls, art has been a part of us. At school, we always chose electives like painting, drawing, or crafts, and any class that allowed us to create with our hands and our hearts.
María Lucía was inspired by her grandmother, who gave her scraps of fabric and with whom she sewed dresses for her Barbies.
María Alejandra was moved by her grandmothers' sewing machines, watching them work, embroider, paint, make flower arrangements... Women who, like fairies, transformed the everyday into beauty.
Life took us down different paths. María Lucía studied Fashion Design at LaSalle College in Bogotá, and María Alejandra at the University of Palermo in Buenos Aires. In different cities, with different rhythms, we cultivated our love for fashion, for details, for telling stories through fabrics.
And then... fate, with its sweet way of guiding us, brought us back together in our beloved Cali. It was there, amid laughter, coffee, and lots of sketchbooks, that we finally decided to make that teenage dream come true: create a brand together.
This is how Pomparosa was born: not as a business, but as an act of love.
A dream come true together, where we pour our passions, our memories, our roots.
A brand that speaks the language of romance, brilliance, art, and nostalgia.
Motherhood found us halfway along the path, and far from holding us back, it became our strength. Pomparosa also became our legacy, our example, our impetus to build something meaningful, something that leaves a mark.
Being mothers empowered us. It taught us to sustain ourselves through difficult days and to celebrate every small achievement with greater joy.
Every time a new portfolio comes to life, we experience it as if it were the first.
We jumped, we cried, we hugged. We fell in love with every fabric, every sparkle, every piece as if it were a jewel.
And when a woman crosses paths with a Pomparosa and sighs, we know the brand's soul has reached its destination.
From our atelier in Cali, we work with Colombian hands full of talent and love. We use materials that tell stories: tapestries that remind us of old tapestries from grandma's house, velvets as soft as those from an antique jewelry box, jacquards that look like scenes from a storybook, and leathers selected with the same care as a flower.
Pomparosa is an ode to the feminine, an invitation to dream through details. To carry on your shoulder a piece that's not just a handbag, but a poetic gesture, a small work of art.
This is a world of beauty, souvenirs and light.
